If you are looking at being close to nature - camping is the way to go. You will be surrounded by beautiful mountains, the scent of the forests and fresh mountain air! The following campgrounds have various amenities to suit your individual needs.

Located not far from the Banff townsite up on Tunnel Mountain, this camping spot provides you with some great views of the surrounding valley and mountains.

Tunnel Mountain consists of three camping grounds:

On Tunnel Mountain - a couple of kilometers from the downtown area of Banff

TUNNEL MOUNATIN VILLAGE I

Sites: 618 non-serviced sites
Open: May 2-Oct 2, 2007
On Tunnel Mountain - located a little further from the Banff townsite and you may be interested in transit.

TUNNEL MOUNTAIN VILLAGE II


Mountain Style Camping

Sites: 188 power-only sites
Open: Tunnel Mtn. Village II is open year round.
On Tunnel Mountain - a couple of kilometers from downtown Banff.

Transportation from any of these three campgrounds is made easy with Banff Public Transit. Ask about transportation when you check in to your campground. Ticket packs and monthly passes are also available at the Banff Town Hall located on 110 Bear St. For more information you can call 762-1215, from 8:30-4:30 (local time), Monday to Friday.

TWO JACK LAKE MAIN

Sites: 380 secluded campsites, kitchen shelters and flush toilets available. No showers.
Open: May 18 to September 4, 2007
Located about 12 km from Banff on the Minnewanka Loop, not far from the former coal-mining town of Bankhead, now ruins for you to discover.


Two Jack Lake Main

TWO JACK LAKESIDE

Sites: 74 sites and showers are available
Located just across the road from Two Jack Main Campground.
This is a nice location where you can really feel one with nature and wake up with the sounds of the wilderness.
