You won't want to miss the Annual Mountain Madness Relay usually held on the Friday, where teams of five race from the top of Mount Norquay all the way to Banff's Central Park. Family fun is also plentiful with such activities as cardboard sled racing, snowshoeing, an iron chef challenge, spelling bee to mention just a few! FEBRUARY CANMORE WINTER CARNIVAL Dates: January 20th - February 7th, 2010 Location: Canmore The winter carnival usually lasts 10 days every year and is a great time to celebrate life in the mountains with lots of mountain activities such as the Trappers' Ball, Kid n' Mutt races, the Grab A Slab ice carving competition, log sawing competitions and beard growing contests. You won't want to miss the Mayor's Sled Dog Challenge where Canmore's Mayor Ron Casey will race the Mayors of other communities on the Pond right after the Kid n Mutt races. FAMILY DAY Date: Alberta Holiday, Monday, February 15, 2010 Location: Banff Family Day is the name of a statutory holiday in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. It is celebrated on the third Monday of February each year. Come to Banff and enjoy Family Day festivities. THE ALBERTA INTERNATIONAL SLED DOG CANMORE CLASSIC Date: Usually in February - IT WAS CANCELLED FOR 2009!
