North West Mounted Police Barracks
POLICE BARRACKS
Witness a piece of this coal-mining town's past by visiting this mud-chinked log structure built in 1892. Now a Provincial Historic Site, this tiny building located on Canmore's Main Street was home to the North West Mounted Police, forerunner to today's RCMP or Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Take a look at the many artifacts and relax in the tea-room.
