You would like the freedom of a rental to get you around and see the sights. I have put together some lists of possible rental companies in the different areas of the Canadian Rockies you may like to browse through. Choose carefully and ask lots of questions. Don't forget insurance!

With some companies you can use airmiles (as I have done in the past) and some have great deals, like upgrades if you book by a certain date. Oh, and make sure you know the cost of a kilometer. Canada and even Alberta are vast and you'd be surprised how quickly those kilometers add up. If you plan on driving a lot, or don't want to feel limited when you get here as to where you can go, get an unlimited kilometer package.

If you are going to be flying into the Calgary International Airport, you may want to stay over night at the airport hotel, or you may want to get on the road right away.
